The fsa Team
FSA, Thirty years smart, 1982 - 2012
David R. Petersen, CFP®, President
Dave founded FSA in 1982 upon the belief that successful investing requires an active, disciplined management strategy. By applying a sell discipline of stop-losses to preserve wealth, he developed a sound financial program that emphasizes taking advantage of advancing markets, adapting to changing markets and protecting capital in declining markets.
With more than 28 years of experience in the wealth management business, Dave has a proven track record of protecting his clients' assets by reducing market positions at the onsets of bear markets and has coined the firm's mantra: “Preserving money is just as important as making it.”
Over the years, he has gained a considerable amount of recognition in the media for his company's unique active management strategy. He was included in The Washingtonian's list of Top Investment Advisors and has been featured in Barrons, The Washington Post, Business Week, and Personal Financial Planning magazine.
Dave studied at Brigham Young University and earned his undergraduate degree in Finance, with an emphasis in Investments, Taxation and Financial Planning.
